A neighborhood hub: Located just outside of Buffalo, New York, this walkable retail center must provide an atmosphere that is desirable in the warmth of summer and throughout the long snow-covered winters. From an ice rink and fire pit in the colder months to flexible sidewalk space for summer markets and artist festivals, this project will become a true asset to the surrounding community, not just a neighborhood retail center.

Our role: As the future of retail is evolving, REALM lead the design team towards a more holistic approach to the public spaces of the project, considering their connections to the human experience as a priority. The design solution embraces the change in seasons while considering the successful qualities of public spaces that attract people. The site plan was studied and broken down into its simplest human-centered parts: The Street, The Sidewalk and The Promenade.
