Miguel Soto
Designer I
Miguel is an emerging design professional with a keen interest in urban design and a passion for creating inclusive and sustainable spaces.
Miguel joins our studio as a recent graduate of The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture where he received a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture with a minor in City and Regional Planning. During his undergraduate career, Miguel participated in several unique studio opportunities with emphasis on community engagement and social impact. Notably, Miguel gained significant hands-on experience during his year-long internship with The Neighborhood Design Center (NDC) in Columbus, OH, which he credits as a key part of his professional development. It was during these experiences that Miguel was particularly drawn to the study and analysis phase of design projects, delving into the underlying motivations and cultural contexts that create meaningful designs and shape urban environments.
Miguel's desire for learning has also taken them beyond the classroom. Studying abroad in Mexico City, where he was captivated by the city's vibrant urban fabric–particularly its iconic Paseo de la Reforma. This experience sparked a fascination with the ways in which cities can be designed to foster a strong sense of place. Skilled in creating evocative, illustrative graphics, Miguel is eager to tell the compelling stories behind public spaces and their identities.
